Jacek BraciakDirector, screenwriter. Theatrical, film and voice actor. One of the most characteristic Polish actors.

 

Born in May of 1968. If he was born in Paris, could be a harbinger of cultural change in France. But fate has placed him in Rzekcin near Drezdenko, making him a full fledged Lubuszanin. The school recognized him as a genius, he was able to do two classes in one year. In line with the slogan: "lames go to highschool and cool guys to the technical school", he graduated from the Technical School of Agricultural Mechanization in Strzelce Krajenskie. The school gave him the ability to use self-propelled lawn mower and combine. Belonging to the Rural Youth Union owes sailing license and training camp to drama school. This was evident foundation for professional actor that was sealed by the completion of Warsaw Theatre Academy.

 

Since graduating his studies associated with Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw. For his role in his presentation of the diploma, directed by Jan Englert, was awarded at the Diploma Performances of Theatre Schools Review in ŁódĽ. As a director, he has proven himself in 1997 in the play “Myszy, koty i niedĽwiedzie”, for which he wrote the screenplay. He was also assistant of director on “Nad złotym stawem” at Teatr Powszechny.

 

He’s playing in many films. You can see him in “Warszawa”, “Mistrz”, “Jasne niebieskie okna”, “Katyń”, “Różyczka” or “Drogówka”.

For his role in "Edi" by Piotr Trzaskalski he twice awarded the prize for the best supporting actor - Lew Award in Gdynia (2002) and Orzeł in 2003. Performing in “Róża”, directed by the first Strong Solanin - Wojciech Smarzowski, reminds of his talent and again to his collection goes the Orzeł for the Best Supporting Actor.

On TV we can see him in “Magda M.”, “Rodzinka.pl”, “Oficerowie”, “Glina”, “Pittbull”, “Twarz± w twarz” or “Ja to mam szczę¶cie”. He created the role of Wieńczysław "Pshemek" Wycior - gay designer in “Brzydula” - the Polish version of “Ugly Betty” serie. “When I watch replays of Brzydula, I laugh at myself” - he says. Gives a voice to the animated characters, including in such films as “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Arthur and the Minimoys”, “Asterix at the Olympic Games” and “Brave”.

 

He is currently working together with Wojciech Smarzowskim on the film “Pod mocnym aniołem”, and in September we will be able to see his next role in the movie “Ukryte” by Jan Kidawa-Błonski.
